November 5, 2024

Dear Partner and Supporter,

A stroll through the or the brings to life our region's extensive history as a testbed for America’s transportation innovation. Yet missing in this story of expertise and invention is the development of a robust regional public transit system.

Next week, timed to follow the election results, GBC will kick off the second annual (TEOS), which this year focuses on the promise and potential of the Red Line. The two events in the series will include conversations on transit-oriented developments along the proposed routes, the economic opportunity the new line could catalyze for businesses and communities, and how to fund this generational investment.
Look south to major regions and expansive light rail and transportation projects are connecting disconnected and disinvested communities and spurring billions of dollars in transit-oriented development.

It’s time for Baltimore to be among them.

The Northeastern Corridor is home to the nation’s most extensive network of regional and interconnected public transportation systems that, when optimized, can connect our residents to greater opportunities, businesses to a broader customer base, and employers to a more reliable workforce. This is why our system needs champions for a Baltimore-based transportation system that has all the ingredients necessary to be a world-class model. This is the outcome envisioned by the we established with our partner the Greater Washington Partnership.

The two events in the Transportation & Economic Opportunity Series - and - will delve into what it will take to realize this world-class transportation system. Please join us to be part of the conversation.
